Me 2007-05-01 Early Morning Packup

I awoke often during the night as I have been doing all trip, but last night I noticed more and more clouds until at 4 am Paul said he felt rain drops. Not wanting to take any chances I put my tent up right away and was safely back in my sleeping bag before the shower really started. The day was mostly dry, just a smattering in the morning and Paul, George, Caitlin and I leap-frogged back and forth along with others like Pink Gumby and SloWalker as we each took breaks.
We all stopped and ate at Hiker’s Oasis Cache, not willing to carry water for cooking later. I’m camped a few miles up the hill now after enjoying an early stop and greeting a few more hikers as they overtake me.

Craig has ordered a replacement, which he hopes to collect at Big Bear City on Wednesday

Oh man! Sucky that it has broken so early on! Hope the replacement lasts longer!
